Diamonds youth team took the Conference Youth Alliance / Midland Division title with a 2-0 win over Oxford United at Nene Park on Wednesday afternoon. With Hitchin Town the only club able to challenge, they needed just one point to secure the title going into the game, and two first half goals were enough to give them the victory.

Adam Sharpe shields the ball
After a lot of the early possession, Diamonds had a couple of chances as the half hour mark approached with Lewis Wilson's shot blocked after some good movement between Elliot Dent and George Cox, before Jake Gillingwater had an effort blocked by the Oxford keeper.

Diamonds continued to look the better side in the second half with the keeper saving from Wilson, and Anthony Stockman shooting just wide, but they were happy to play out the remaining time to secure the title.

They have one more League game remaining, at home to Oxford City Blues on Wednesday 28 April (2pm), before they visit Ebbsfleet United the following week for the Quarter Final of the Championship Play-Offs, where the Division winners compete for the Conference Youth Alliance Championship.
