Head of Youth Paul Driver commented on yesterday's 4-1 win in the Football Conference Youth Alliance "It was a good win, a tough game like we knew it would be. Histon are a decent side, a few of them have involvement with their first team, so we knew it would be difficult.

The pitch was a bit heavy after the rain and frost, so it was never going to be a pretty one, probably 1-1- after 90 minutes was a fair score. We knuckled down in extra time, played some really good football. We made loads of chances and Adam took three of them.

We are onto the semi-final, which was the minimum we were looking for from this competition - up against one of Woking, Boreham Wood or Newcastle MMU.

George Cox was superb, he ran and ran all day, Elliot Dent in centre midfield also did well. Nabil Shariff did well up top, Liam Read did well, he took his goal well and Sharpey came on with 10 minutes of normal time to go and did what was needed, what we wanted from him.

We just got better as the game went on, we adapted what we did to their game, asked questions of the lads and they answered them with 3 goals in extra time."
