R&DFC Youth 5 - 0 Boston Utd Youth

Wednesday 11th October 2009

Football Conference Youth Alliance

Goalscorers: Liam Read (2), Sean Shields, Dan Easlea, Jake Gillingwater.

Head of Youth at R&DFC Paul Driver game us a summary of Wednesday's FCYA win.

"We rested the older ones, Cox, McDonald Shariff, Evans, Hallford, Hayes. It was the younger group again, with a lot of first years. It was 5-0, that was the best performance from that younger group, all around everyone has done well, everyone has taken things on board. Boston aren't a bad side and we've fought hard to start with, come out 2-0 up for the second half, been positive and just done the right things with the ball, and finished up getting five.

Liam Read got two, that's the best he's played all season, we spread the goals around a little bit. Some very good performances. Callum Earls has switched to left back recently and played very well, their best player was the lad up against Callum, he's done tremendously well.

Looking at the real positives today the team as a whole did well, and particularly Read up front and Earls at the back.

Two wins in a week, back on track in the league, the best we've played with our younger group - so all in all a very pleasing week."
