Max York, a central midfielder formerly with Histon, signed for the Diamonds on 1st July 2010.
Max started his career with Cambridge United and then Histon's academy - making 6 appearances for the Histon first team after becoming a member of the senior squad at Christmas during the 2009-10 season.
When interviewed following the announcement of his signing, Max said "I'm glad to have signed for a club like Rushden & Diamonds, they've got a great set up and amazing facilities. I'm looking forward to playing my part in the team and I just can't wait to get started and stuck in."
He was also asked what sort of style fans could expect from him in the middle of the park "I think I'm sort of like a 90 minute midfielder - box to box. I spoke to the Manager as to what sort of role he is looking for and I'll be happy to play it!"

He made his first team debut in the Hillier Senior Cup game against Daventry United on 12th October 2010, scoring the opening goal.

In early November 2010 he went on a month's loan to Barton Rovers on the Zamaretto League Division One Central. In early January 2011 he signed on loan to his former club Histon for the remainder of the 2010-11 season.
