Striker / Winger Ryan Charles signed a deal with Rushden & Diamonds in the summer of 2010.

The twenty-one year old striker, who can also play on the wing had previously been at Luton since the age of nine. After two successful seasons in the youth team, Ryan made his Hatters first team debut against Southend United in a League 1 game in March 2008 and full first team debut against Carlisle United in the following game. He went on to make six starts in the remainder of that League 1 season. As the Hatters dropped into League 2 and then the Conference his opportunities were limited by injury, as well as a number of managerial changes at the club.

During his time at Luton, he went on loan to Hitchin Town and Hinckley United and in 2009 went on loan to Blue Square Premier clubs Kettering Town and Kidderminster Harriers.

Manager Justin Edinburgh commented on the signing "Ryan is someone I think is going to have great potential, he's at a good age. He didn't get too many opportunities at Luton this season, but had a good number of appearances at a young age.

He made his Diamonds debut as a substitute in the 1-1 draw against Fleetwood Town on 14^th August 2010 at the start of the Blue Square Bet Premier season. He then made his full debut on 21st August at Barrow.

Ryan scored his debut goal for the Diamonds on 28th August 2010 in the 4-1 victory over Grimsby Town.

On 14th June 2011 he signed for Cambridge United on a one-year deal.
