Jamie McGuinness joined Rushden & Diamonds prior to the start of the 2008 / 09 season. The right-sided midfield player joined as an eighteen year-old free agent from Luton Town on a deal until the end of that season.
Jamie began his career at Luton, most playing on the right-hand side of midfield, and also had a brief loan spell at Aldershot Town last season. He was released by the Hatters at the end of their 2007/08 campaign, following the end of his Scholarship with the Club.
Jamie appeared for the Diamonds in July 2008 in the second half of their 7-0 pre-season victory over Halstead Town and was signed shortly afterwards to give Garry Hill more options in midfield.
On 16th September 2008 he made his first team debut when appearing in the NFA Hillier Senior Cup game against Rothwell Town. He then made his Blue Square Premier debut on January 23rd 2009 when appearing as a substitute against Forest Green Rovers, and went on to make five league appearances that term.
With the announcement of the squad list for the 2009-10 season it was confirmed that Jamie would be staying at Nene Park for that season. He went to Bedford Town on loan on 17th August 2009, returning at the end of September. He then went for a loan stay at Weymouth from mid-November, initially for a month, but this was extended, firstly until then end of 2009, and then until the end of the season. He was released by Rushden & Diamonds at the end of the 2009/10 season.
