Left-winger James Reid signed for the Diamonds on loan from Nottingham Forest in early July 2009, initially until January 2010.
A product of the Forest Academy, Reid had played one game for the Forest first team prior to joining the Diamonds, coming on as a substitute in the 90th minute of a Championship win over Barnsley.
James is a key player in the Forest reserve team and was named 'Academy Player of the Year in 2007/08'. He has represented England at Under 17 level, playing in the Under 17s World Cup and has also played for the national team at Under 18 level.
James has been given squad number 11, and made his Diamonds debut on 8th August 2009 in the 2-0 defeat by Salisbury City at Nene Park..
He then scored his debut goal for the club in the 6-1 victory at Barrow on 5th September 2009. With Lee Tomlin making the left midfield role his own at the start of the 2009/10 season, Reid found his first team opportunities very limited, and he returned to his parent club at the end of November 2009.
