Central midfielder Shane Huke signed for Rushden & Diamonds on 25th March 2010. His initial signing was until the end of the 2009/10 season, but, after playing nine games in that season he signed for the 2010/11 season. He had made six starts and three substitute appearances, both in midfield and covering in the wing-back position as the Diamonds pushed for the playoffs prior to signing the extended contract.

The twenty three year old was born in Reading, but raised in Queensland, Australia, and started his career at Peterborough United, playing 29 games for the Posh - during which time he had loan spells at King's Lynn, Bedford Town, Cambridge City and AFC Hornchurch. He later signed for Dagenham & Redbridge, playing 36 times for the Daggers before being released for personal reasons. He then returned to his native Australia playing for Central Coast Mariners before joining the Diamonds.

He made his Diamonds debut on 27th March 2010 as a substitute in the 1-0 win at AFC Wimbledon.

In mid-May 2011 it was announced by Dover Athletic that he had joined them for the 2011-12 season, switching to part-time football in the Conference South whilst at the same time taking up a role as a Financial Advisor.
