Twenty five year old winger Matt Pattison signed for Rushden & Diamonds in mid-June 2009 after having been released by Woking at the end of the 2008-09 season. He signed on a one-year deal, with the option for another year.

Matt had played for Woking for the last two seasons, and for Farnborough and Camberley Town before that. He primarily plays on the right wing, but can also play down the left.

Rushden & Diamonds Assistant manager Michael Stone commented: "We are delighted to have secured Matt, he is a very talented player that was being tracked by a number of clubs. At 25 years old, he adds both youthfulness and experience to the squad and can play on both the left and right giving us more options in wide areas. He is very direct with the ball and enjoys bringing others into play and it is this contribution to the team that we are looking forward to seeing in the near future."

Pattison made his Diamonds debut on 18th August 2009 in the 2-1 victory over Hayes & Yeading United. He then scored his debut goal for the club in the 6-1 victory at Barrow on 5th September 2009.
