Striker Jefferson Louis signed for Rushden & Diamonds on 12th November 2009 on loan from Crawley Town. The deal was initially until January 24th 2010, but on that date the loan was extended through to the end of the 2009/10 season.
Louis, aged 30, has played for Oxford United, Woking, Bristol Rovers, Stevenage Borough, Havant & Waterlooville, Weymouth, Mansfield Town and Wrexham amongst others. During his spell at Wrexham during the 2008/09 season, Louis scored 15 goals in 38 games, signing for Crawley in the summer of 2009.
Prior to joining the Diamonds, Louis scored 5 goals in 18 appearances for the Red Devils, 10 as a starter and 8 as a substitute. Jefferson has played in the FA Cup 3rd round against Arsenal for Oxford United in the past and has represented Dominica's national side in the World Cup qualifiers.
Rushden & Diamonds Assistant Manager Michael Stone commented, "We're delighted to have him on board, to give us some added firepower and competition for places up front.
He gives us variety up front due to his power, strength and aerial ability. We've got games coming thick and fast now, we've almost got two games a week every week between now and New Year, so to add to the squad at this stage is excellent."

Jefferson made his Diamonds debut in the 2-1 victory over Histon on 14th November 2009. He scored his debut goal in his next game, against Cambridge United on 24th November 2009.

Diamonds Manager Justin Edinburgh commented on the loan extension in January, after Louis' man-of-the-match performance with two-goals against Barrow. "I think his performance was very good, as was the team's. Before the game we knew we were pretty thin on the ground with Aaron and Cliff injured so we were looking to extend the loan anyway, if you see a player putting in that kind of performance, you want to keep him. We know Jeff and he knows us and he's settled in well."
He played for the club until the end of the 2009/10 season when his loan expired.
