With the start of a new season it is time to dust down the old copies of the non-league handbook and check out the directions down to Essex to find Rosemary Lane, Halstead, home of Halstead Town
Halstead play in the Ridgeons Eastern Counties League Division One - which is at level eleven of the Football Pyramid (the Blue Square Premier being at level five - this is the equivalent level to the UCL Division 1). They were formed in 1879, moving to Rosemary Lane in 1948.
Their average home attendance as they dropped to Division 1 last season was 87, and they finished in 6th place in that league, narrowly missing out on promotion.
Halstead play in Black and White quarters, so the Diamonds will wear their away strip for this game.
