We spoke to Justin on Monday about the recovery of injured players ahead of Newport on Saturday
First week for a while where you've got a free week, no midweek games, obviously we've had the behind closed doors game. Does it change things having a whole week to settle down, get injuries back?
In terms of no midweek game it certainly gives the opportunity to get players who are out injured, certainly not to miss any more games and getting closer to fitness.
There's obviously a big, big plus with Saturday's game with Aaron O'Connor got on the pitch and played his part. Trained again and took part in that game.
Michael Corcoran came out and joined us for most of training today, but that game might be a bit too soon. And Craig Farrell and Shane Huke are progressing well.
So Sam Smith, he went back for another scan and unfortunately it's shown he's got a crack in his metatarsal, which we're really disappointed with because they didn't read that in the first instance. So we're really disappointed for the boy because send him to these places and expect to get the right results, but they've missed it.
It'll be a couple of weeks, but at least we know what the problem is with Sam now.
We're progressing nicely with the injuries, so hopefully we can continue the progression that they've shown.
And is there any chance of having any of them for Saturday?
Obviously, Aaron, whether or not any of the others I'm not sure at this stage.
Justin Miller's back from suspension now, that's another big plus.
So, I think Michael might not be too far away, and Shane or Craig should be fine for Southport away I would imagine. So things are looking up on that front.
