Rushden & Diamonds XI lost 1-2 to a Peterborough United XI in a behind closed doors friendly on Tuesday afternoon.
Diamonds could have taken an early lead after a trialist was brought down in the penalty area after just five minutes, but Aaron O'Connor's spot kick was saved by the keeper.
Although Diamonds probably had the better chances in the opening period, it was the visitors who went in front on 32 minutes when their centre forward rode a challenge and slotted the ball under Joe Day.
Diamonds best chance fell on 38 minutes when Joe Keehan's fierce drive struck the underside of the crossbar, looking like it had gone in, but was cleared away off the line.
The equaliser arrived on 79 minutes after Nathan Koranteng crossed from the left. Keehan's challenge saw the ball fall nicely for a trialist to fire home from 15 yards.
However, Peterborough won the game in the final minute as their substitute found space to head home a left wing cross.
All in all it was a good workout for the lads, and a chance for some of those who hadn't had as many minutes on the pitch to get some competitive action.
