Justin Edinburgh: Be Positive, Keep Together

Posted on: Thu 26 Aug 2010

We spoke to Justin Edinburgh ahead of tonight's game against AFC Wimbledon, which kicks off at 7:45pm.

How are the injuries shaping up, how is Aaron O'Connor doing?

Aaron's thigh has slight bleeding, We've got to wait for it to clear before we start the rehabilitation work. If that all goes well then and in the following week he continues to strengthen then hopefully he'll be back in training, so probably about two weeks til he's back in training.

Craig Farrell has not responded as well as we thought he would and he's no closer at this present time, he's definitely not available for tonight and probably not for Saturday either.

Sam Smith's no clearer, we've had him scanned and it showed no break but Simon Parsell is not too convinced, they do miss things sometimes so we'll send him back this week cause we tried to step it up this morning in training but he's still no closer.

So it's frustrating and while I don't like to make excuses, it is a reason why it's been hard for us so far, it's been disruptive but I take the positives, the new boys that have come in are picking up the match pace now, I thought Rene did well and worked hard.

Rene was unlucky not to score on Saturday.

He was and we haven't thrown the towel in, I feel there needs to be improvements on our performances individually and collectively. What we have to do is create our own luck, I've certainly got belief in this team, it's only a matter of time before we're back on the road to recovery and heading in the right direction.

Jamie Stuart's sending off, presumably no complaints, rules are rules?

It is what it is, the boy was clever, he used his body to get across Jamie, got a touch and won a penalty, the good thing for us though is that it's only a one match suspension, not three, (as it was a professional foul not a violent one) so he'll miss tonight but I feel we've got a more than capable replacement in Shane Huke to come in and partner Curtis like they did at Wrexham at the end of last year, so they're familiar with each other, so a ready made replacement and we move on.

There's lots of things against us at the moment but we can't change that, all we can do is be positive, keep together and work as hard as we can to turn the results around.
