Justin Edinburgh: It was a pleasing performance

Posted on: Tue 27 Jul 2010

Justin Edinburgh spoke to www.thediamondsfc.com after the game against Ilfracombe Town.

Justin, what are your thoughts on tonight's game ?

It was a very good second half. We started the game well to go two goals up, but we took our foot off the gas and slowed the game down, with one or two players having too many touches in the wrong area. Overall it was a good workout with some good goals, and Nabil (Shariff) doing well in the first team. In the second half we passed the ball really well and created a lot of chances and shots on goal, so overall it was a pleasing performance.

It appeared the likes of Lee Tomlin and Aaron O'Connor were trying to help Nabil get his hat-trick ?

Yes, he would have deserved it. It was a good chance for him tonight, and he certainly took it. Alan Power did really well in the middle of the park, keeping the ball moving, and obviously we give ourselves a chance to get through to the semi-final tomorrow evening.

There was a bit of squad rotation today, so will there be more changes for tomorrow's game ?

To be fair I'd like to, but we are carrying one of two injuries at the moment, and we've picked a few more up tonight, so we are limited on numbers - we'll have to have a look at that tomorrow morning. We know what needs to be done in the game tomorrow, and we'll have a loosening and stretching session in the morning to assess who is available for that game.

Thank You.
