Jamie Day is the latest of Justin Edinburgh's summer signings to agree to join at Nene Park.
The twenty four year old started in the youth ranks at Peterborough United, and has gone on to make over 100 appearances for the Posh as they rose from League 2 to the Championship.
Day had loan spells at Crawley and most recently Dagenham & Redbridge last season where he made 8 appearances. Known primarily as a defender, he plays on the left hand side, in either midfield or defence, and can also play in the middle.
Jamie will sign for the Diamonds on July 1st 2010 once his Peterborough United contract has expired.
Manager Justin Edinburgh spoke about Jamie Day's signing, saying "Jamie is a fantastic signing, a twenty four year old with a wealth of experience and promotions in the Football League with Peterborough.
He is a massive signing for this Football Club, he gives us options down the left and is comfortable in midfield or defence.
He is a fantastic signing and I'm delighted about securing him, Jamie had endless offers from other clubs and it shows that its not all about money, Jamie's been down here a few times and liked what he saw, he believes in what we're doing as a football club and what we want to achieve."
