Rushden & Diamonds are pleased to announce that a new Assistant Manager has been appointed. Paul Driver will be taking the role.
Paul will be a familiar face to Diamonds fans, he has been at Rushden & Diamonds for four years as Head of Youth, in charge overall of the development of Rushden & Diamonds highly successful youth system, and Manager of the Youth Team.
Manager Justin Edinburgh said "Paul has been working closely alongside myself last year, so he knows what's expected and he knows how things work, he's not coming into it blind. He was with us every game last year, home and away.
I'm excited about teaming up with Paul, he's more than capable, I've done all my coaching courses with Paul over the last two years so with his knowledge and his inside information at the football club, with the youngsters we have in the group I just thought it was the natural progression for Paul and the right decision for myself and for the football club to continue to move forward."
We spoke to Paul Driver about the announcement "I'm absolutely delighted to be given the chance at the club, honoured to get the chance to work at this level at such a good club, obviously I've been here for a few years now so I know quite a few of the people in and around Nene Park.
I don't think there's any other club like it in terms of the contact you get with supporters, so the main word really is honoured to get the chance to do it, and excited about working with the squad of players that we've got, that the Manager is building."
