Jamie Stuart: Player of the Season
With Jamie Stuart being presented with the Diamonds' Supporters' Player of The Season award after the game on Saturday, Michael Stone gave us his thoughts on the award.
Michael, By everyone's admission, Jamie didn't start off by being the favourite with the fans, but he's certainly made up for it, and the fans have voted him as their Player of the Season.
Justin's acquisitions this season have been a group of players who weren't necessarily on the tip of everyone's tongues out there in non-league football, and Jamie Stuart was one of those that Justin has worked with, and he knew exactly what he was getting.
If you watch Jamie train, he trains the way he plays, and if you are on his team in a "five-a-side" you won't lose. He will pull you in and say to you - "we will not lose" - it doesn't matter if it's a "five-a-side", a shooting competition or out there on the field - he's a winner through and through.
That mentality has taken us to a new level at this football club. The squad now train, play and in everything they do Jamie has been responsible for the raising of the bar, and I'm so pleased for him he won the supporters' player of the year. There were so many good performances this season from players, but I'm delighted for Jamie.
