Justin Edinburgh: Try to finish the season on a high note

Posted on: Fri 23 Apr 2010

We spoke to Justin ahead of Saturday's game against Luton Town.

How do you approach the Luton game, knowing you may play them again a few days later ? Does it affect selection ?

No, not particularly. It's no good working out who we could play, as it could change quite easily over a matter of seconds during Saturday's game. The prioritising we are doing at the moment it making sure everyone is ready for the first playoff game on Thursday. On Saturday we concentrate solely on ourselves, then once that game is out of the way we'll know who we are playing and can prepare accordingly.

It could be a bit weird if we do have to play Luton three times in 10 days, but if that happens we'll be ready and waiting.

Reflecting on the game at Kenilworth Road, it was a battling performance, although perhaps Luton had the better of possession in the first half ?

Anyone who has been in football long enough knows that possession doesn't win games. In the possession they had we were comfortable and didn't feel threatened. They had one or two shots from outside the box, but it was a fantastic performance to go there and win 2-0. I'm sure Saturday's game will be slightly different - whether or not they will play their full strength side we'll have to wait and see - but for me it's about continuing to get results and to try to finish the season off on a high, and not surrender our unbeaten run at home that we are on at the moment. The emphasis is on us as the home team, and I'm certainly looking for a good performance in front of a big crowd, and am excited about the whole day.
