We spoke to Captain Jamie Stuart ahead of Wednesday's game at Nene Park against Oxford - about the away fixture, Saturday's draw and the season so far.

You must be looking forward to Wednesday's game?

Yeah, we're all looking forward to it. I bet the fans are as well, everyone involved with the club certainly, we're hoping for a good atmosphere.

What did you make of them in the away game? it was quite evenly matched.

I know the manager, he's a very good manager. I think they've got some good players they've got some good athletes in the team, they play some good football and they're quite strong at times as well. But I felt that we could have come away with the three points but I thought a point would have been a fair result on the night.

We feel a bit hard done by with the decision by the ref, which definitely wasn't a penalty, but we've got nothing to lose. They're above us, we want to stay in the pack, so we're going to take another game, we're well prepared for it, we're looking forward to it.

Do you feel the first penalty was a bit harsh as well?

Yeah, but I mean sometimes thats the way the game goes now, get them sometimes and you don't, fair play to strikers, to be fair to them. Me personally, don't think it's a penalty, but that's the way the game is now, you get them sometimes, so I can accept that one.

Do you think they're under more pressure tomorrow? I mean they seem to be feeling it a little bit, they've dropped quite a few points, at one stage they were running away with the title, but now they're trying to catch up again.

Yeah, I think they will be under pressure, I think more them than us, they've started very well, they've been up there most of the season, they've had little blips, a few results haven't gone their way, so yeah, the pressure's on them.

Everyone thought we wouldn't be up there at the start of the season, I think we've proved everyone wrong, but we're still sitting quiet, we're still going to do our job, doing it quietly, so the pressure's more on them.

Still disappointment about Saturday? Or have the players moved on from that to look to Oxford. You must feel that's two points dropped?

Yeah I'm very disappointed because we played as well as we did, we dominated most of the game, they only had one or two shots on goal. We dominated the game, the ball's in their half most of the game, the chances we've created with the balls across the box were unbelievable. The first goal's took a deflection off Robbo, which was a lucky goal, and the second one's just an error out of nowhere and to be fair we hadn't made any of them for a while.

It's frustrating but we've got to look at it in a positive way. Altrincham have built on their progression from last season, they're becoming more of a stable mid table Conference team now. I think they have not lost in the last seven games, we got a point, and we've just got to build on that and at the end of the season we'll see if it's two points dropped, or a point gained.
