We spoke to Cliff Akurang ahead of Wednesday's game against Histon in the Blue Square Premier about how the season is shaping up

There's a lot of competition up front and your not guaranteed a place in the line-up, I suppose that's good in a way - it shows the strength in depth the team has.

Yeah, you know that if your scoring you will be playing, I had a little spell where I had a hot streak and played a lot, now when you get given the chance you've got to take it.

From a personal point of view you had that injury a few weeks ago and that seemed to drag on a bit longer than you wanted.

Yeah we weren't sure what my calf injury was, every time I kept trying to come back to training it kept breaking down, but that's all behind me now and I'm getting fitter with each game.

You got a decent run out on Saturday didn't you, a good period of the second half so did you feel fresh?

Yeah, I felt good - I've done a lot of training behind the scenes and working out.

What did you make of Saturday's game overall? Were you pleased with a point?

I thought probably we deserved something out of the game, they defended really well, made sure they kept working for it, it was hard to break them down. But they didn't make many chances against us, it just goes to show that even though they were ahead of us (after Chester's points deduction) they still fear us, they came with a gameplan and they stuck to it.

How do you see the playoff picture, are you still right up there, I think its going to go right down to the wire.

Yeah, we're all confident as a team that we should be in there and we're pushing on really. With those games we've missed like the Mansfield game, we've missed the chance to make up grounds on those teams above - but this is an opportunity to put that right.
