We spoke to captain Jamie Stuart ahead of the Grays game, about how he see's the rest of the season shaping up.

Jamie, you told me at the start of the season you hate conceding goals, does it make you feel better when the team scores six?

Most definitely, we've put a few balls in the back of the net which is very pleasing from the back, disappointed that we did concede even though we were comfortable at that time of the game, we want to try and cut that out but really pleasing that we scored lots of goals.

No one left during the transfer window, so you keep that solidarity and consistency at the back, how important is that for you?

Very important, it was a new team at the start of the season, it does take a while to gel and I believe we've got the right players and they're good enough and if they stay together for as long as possible then we're only going to get better and better as a team.

What was it like, the last day of the transfer window?

Few little rumours, you hear whether there's someone going or coming, apart from that it was normal really.

Your position in the league means if you win your games in hand you get into the playoffs, psychologically will that be important at this stage of the season?

I think it's very important, we want to do better in the second half of the season, and we started very well. We know that if we can pick up a few more points in the next couple of games we'll be in the playoffs, so that's our target but we'll take each game as it comes, so we need to get three points at Grays first.

If you look at those teams currently in those playoffs, Justin said you were punching above your weight, do you think that there are securer teams in those playoffs?

Not really, you say punching above our weight looking at the finances of the clubs, they're bringing in players on bigger money and if you look at the players in our squad, I'm sure our players are on a lot less than theirs but it's about ability and I think we've got a good balance here and I don't think we're punching above our weight, I believe we've got a good chance and we can be there.

As captain, how do you assess the squad's potential then for the rest of the season?

I think if we keep doing what we're doing, believe and have confidence, then I think we'll be all right. I think the massive thing is believing, we've got a lot of young players in the team, if they can believe they can do it cause they're hungry enough and they work hard enough, so they just need a little bit of belief.

Who are your deputies in the side, who do you look to for leadership elsewhere in the side?

Simon Downer, obviously for his experience, Paul Terry, a lot of experience and a good talker but there's players like Aaron O'Connor who don't say much but his work rate and graftiness on the pitch sets the tone and if players who don't say much are passionate and work really hard, they look for that inspiration.
