Jamie Stuart : Hopefully we can get over this....

Posted on: Thu 08 Oct 2009

Jamie you must be disappointed

Yeah, very disappointed. I think we're looking nervous at the minute, not playing as well as we have been doing, seems we're playing with a little bit of fear and I don't know why. The Gaffer and Michael are putting no pressure on us, they want us to play. We're not making the right decisions. I thought today, we defended well and they didn't look like scoring but the more the game goes on, the team coming away from home, still 0-0, getting late on in the game, they're going to think they've got a chance of nicking a goal here.

And that's what's happened today, we didn't have enough composure in the middle, around the box. I don't know its just very disappointing.

It was one of those games that had 0 - 0 written all over it and then one mistake by Curtis and then Simon.

Yeah it did, but it's looked like that in the last few games. We're not kids you know, it's a man's game and when I say, I don't mean just physical, I mean being brave enough to get on the ball open up and look for the pass, people off the ball looking for the ball, I think we've lacked that the last few games when a couple of weeks ago, everyone was wanting the ball. I don't know why, there's a little bit of a fear factor.

But we're still not far off, we just need to keep sticking together and hopefully this is our bad patch and hopefully we can get it out of the way.

It did not seem that long ago that you were fifth and flying, confidence was high and we had seen you could score goals and it didn't matter if you conceded one or two. But now it seems you can't score and there's silly little mistakes - that's the difference really.

That's the problem. Ok, there was another sending off for us which was disappointing.I didn't think Simon was the last man, I thought Curtis was giving enough cover, I was coming across, but contact wise, I didn't see, I wasn't sure if it was shoulder to shoulder or in front of him but I don't know…

I suppose there's that but once he's given it.

Yeah he's given it, that's our luck at the moment, especially free kicks, took a deflection off the wall and gone in. What can you do about that?

These things seem to kick you down when you're feeling a bit down.

A lot of boys are down at the moment, the gaffer's said some harsh words, rightly so.

Just got to look to Saturday, a full week now to put it right.

We've got a full week, we've got a long week's training. We've got an away game coming up so we need to try and put these games behind us and try and get back to our normal selves. Like I said, hopefully this is our little bad patch and we can get over this very quickly.
