Rushden & Diamonds Under 16 player Aaron King has completed a move to Liverpool FC for an undisclosed fee.

Aaron joined Rushden & Diamonds Youth Development at the age of 11, moving into the Centre of Excellence in his Under 13 year, where he has continued through to Under 16 level. After a successful trial with the Reds, Aaron begins his two-year scholarship with Liverpool on 6^th July, becoming the third player in the last two seasons to move from Rushden & Diamonds Youth System to a Premiership club.

Head of Youth Paul Driver commented "We are all absolutely thrilled for Aaron - this is a brilliant achievement for everyone involved in his development throughout the five years that he has been with us.

His progress with us to get to the level where one of the 'Big 4 Clubs' is prepared to offer him a scholarship also serves as further evidence of how well we have maintained our system despite the withdrawal of financial support from the football authorities in the past two seasons".

We would like to wish Aaron the best of luck at Liverpool.

Rushden & Diamonds Youth Team will be playing a special pre-season game against a team of Diamonds Legends on Sunday 2^nd August 2009 on pitch 2, in order to raise funds for the Youth System; entry is £3 pay on the gate.
