Justin: Talks are at an advanced stage

Posted on: Sat 13 Jun 2009

We've got a few 'works in progress' at the moment, how are they coming along?

Yes, we're at a very advanced stage of completing four more signings for the football club, two loan signings from a Championship side that should be completed soon. Also we're in the final stages of two more players coming into the club, one more striker and a wide player, so it's looking promising. Obviously you can never count on things until they've signed really, but talks are in an advanced stage and I'm very optimistic that we'll have good news to report early next week.

How will the squad look once those players are in place?

Well we've also just bought in Craig Farrell in exchange for Michael Rankine. Then I've got another striker that I'm speaking to, which will then make us very competitive in that area. I've got a wide player who can play right or left, so hopefully we can tie that one down and that'll give us the balance we didn't have before, with a player who plays naturally wide and gives us that width.

Then there are the two loans coming in from a Championship side, one of them is a central midfield player, which will give us four excellent players for two positions there, and the other a wide left player. I've been tracking this guy for a while and he'd give us natural width. All that then leaves us, is for a central defender to come in to complete the squad really, then maybe one or two additions after that. We'll have a healthy squad and one that will certainly be able to compete next season.

The squad is looking very competitive, very strong - we'll have good balance and good competition all over the park and we're certainly going to be looking forward to it. Its certainly my squad now, I can impose my own style and we want to continue to play like we did at the end of last season.
