Justin: Pre-Season - It's Going To Be Tough But Enjoyable

Posted on: Wed 10 Jun 2009

It must be nice to be in the position where you have the summer to look at things, obviously you had to come in part way through the season and do what you did there, but it must be nice to build a team that you want now.

Well I think the good thing for myself, coming in half way through, which wasn't ideal on one side of it, but I've had time to assess the squad, the players that are here, the players that have unfortunately left.

I'm looking forward to saying now that this is my squad and this is my team. I've added, I've juggled, whichever way you want to look at it and we're looking to move forward.

I think it's a case that a lot of the players here understand what I'm asking, I can implement my own ideas a little bit more - pre-season is a great time to do that. It was difficult when points mattered and I was trying to secure the job for myself during the last season, but I'm certainly looking forward to pre-season. I like watching people run, (Simon Parsell adds: It's a running game isn't it!), if you're not fit you can't play! I like watching players struggle, for the fitness - its going to be tough, but it'll be enjoyable. Then we get down to the serious side of the Blue Square Premier.
