2008 / 2009 Blue Square Premier fixtures

The publication of the 2008 / 2009 Blue Square Premier fixture list on 2nd July has seen Rushden & Diamonds due to open their campaign with an away game at Eastbourne Borough on Saturday 9th August. It will be Diamonds first visit to Priory Lane after Borough won promotion from the Blue Square South beating Hampton & Richmond in the Play-off Final last May.

Eastbourne Borough have made several signings during the summer, including former Diamonds Simon Wormull and Jean-Michel Sigere.

The first home game will be on Tuesday 12 August, when Ebbsfleet United visit Nene Park, while relegated Wrexham visit the following Sunday.

Supporters won't have to wait long for the local Derby against Kettering Town, when Diamonds visit Rockingham Road on Saturday 23 August. The return fixture will be on Easter Saturday, 11 April.

Stevenage Borough will again be Diamonds opponents over the Christmas period, with a Boxing Day game at Broadhall Way, and a return on New Year's Day at Nene Park. Diamonds will also be at home to Weymouth on Sunday 28 December.

Diamonds have never played Lewes before and the first encounter between the two sides will be at the Dripping Pan on Thursday 11 September - Live on Setanta TV. Probably the biggest challenge of the season for the supporters will be the Tuesday evening visit to Holker Street, Barrow at the beginning of September !

Diamonds finish the season with a home fixture against Woking .

Setanta will be screening 50 Blue Square Premier games during the coming season. Each of the 24 teams will feature at least once and any change to the fixtures will be confirmed as soon as possible.
