Rushden & Diamonds have today signed twenty-two year old defender / midfielder Scott Mitchell on a one-year contract.

Scott started his career at Ipswich Town as a teenage trainee, and made his debut in 2004. He then moved north in 2006 to play for Livingston, where he made over 40 appearances in Scottish Division 1.

At the start of 2008 he joined Peterborough United on a short term contract, during which period he appeared in five League 2 games.

We would like to extend a very warm Diamonds welcome for Scott to Nene Park.
