Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to announce the signing of Burton Albion Striker Daryl Clare.

The twenty nine year old forward started his career at Grimsby Town, with loan spells at Northampton Town and Cheltenham Town, along with Republic of Ireland Under 21 appearances.

On signing for Boston United, Clare began his prolific scoring form, gaining the Conference Golden Boot twice, once at Boston and once at Chester City, helping both sides to Conference titles in the process.

In August 2005 Clare signed for Crawley Town for a club record fee, but was subsequently released when financial problems hit the Red Devils, where he then signed for fellow Conference rivals Burton Albion in March 2006. Daryl has impressed during his time at the Brewers, with his goals propelling them towards the playoffs.

Clare joins Garry's squad for the 2008/09 Blue Square Premier season and we would like to extend a very warm Diamonds welcome for Daryl to Nene Park.

Also Left Back Dean Howell has left Nene Park signing for Aldershot, full details of this will be announced with the official retained list once finalised.
