Justin Edinburgh: Exceptional from start to finish

Posted on: Mon 01 Feb 2010

Justin, what can you say about that, that was fantastic.

Yeah, credit to the lads. We spoke about it before, if we're going to be contenders, we got to come places like this, no disrespect to Hayes & Yeading, and record victories and get three points and in the fashion we did was exceptional and it was fantastic performance from start to finish.

Was there anything about today different today from last week or last Tuesday or indeed any other game because you certainly came out the box quickly didn't you?

Yeah, it's a case of taking your chances when they come along, I thought we were bright and started the game ever so well from the kick off and I thought we took the game to them and were on the front foot and we took our chances when they came along very well and were clinical. We were disappointed to concede the goal that we did and maybe could have got one or two more, that's not being disrespectful to anyone as there were chances that were there to be had.

Chances that were taken by more than one person, the goals were shared around, which must have been good?

Yeah they were shared around and that's good because you don't rely on one player, I think that's three or four players in double figures now and obviously Jamie Stuart getting another one which is good to see but the gloss was taken off from the goal we conceded, we thoroughly deserved the clean sheet and the goalkeeper's handling was immaculate today and as a manager you've got to enjoy these times and I just said that to the players, you don't usually come away with two 6-1 away wins in one season, it's a good feat and like I said, they deserve it.

Craig Farrell scored two today and two against Barrow in the other 6-1, he's come on as a sub and you've brought on three pretty experienced substitutes in the second half and it's kept the momentum going as well which must be good from a squad basis?

Well it is, I think obviously when you're in a position to make the subs, get people minutes and obviously when people came on and score, its great. Craig up to a few days ago was on a barren spell, I said to him to stick in there, we know your work rate has been fantastic and you're a team player and it'll turn around for you and I think he's got four goals in three and it speaks for itself, Aaron O'Connor gets one and I think Jefferson Louis' had his best game for us without scoring today and that speaks for itself, it's not about individuals, it's about the team.

Finally, let's talk about Curtis Osano, he was taken off in the first half, what's the situation there?

A bit of a hamstring strain, so we'll let Simon assess that over the next forty-eight hours and hopefully it's not severe but we've had an excellent replacement in Cockers (Michael Corcoran) who every time where ever he's asked to play, comes in and does an outstanding job, so one door closes and one opens for another player, but hopefully Curtis' injury is not too severe and he's not out too long.
