Defender Marcus Bignot joined the Diamonds for the start of their Division 3 title winning season, joining the club from Queens Park Rangers, and taking over Tarkan Mustafa's role at right back. After helping the Diamonds to gain promotion he was then a key player in the Diamonds Division 2 side, until financial constraints forced the Diamonds to offload him back to Rangers (although he had initially been expected to follow Brian Talbot to Oldham Athletic).

Like many Diamonds full-backs he rarely had opportunities for a strike on goal, but did score a memorable goal at Oldham.

Since leaving the Diamonds he has moved from QPR to Millwall.

He returned to Nene Park for the Diamonds Legends game to help raise funds for the Diamonds Youth setup.
