The Burnley born central defender and joined the Diamonds youth set up in July 2007 from Boston United, having previously been with Crewe Alexandra as an Under 16 player. After playing in several reserve team fixtures, Jack made his first team debut in the NFA Hillier Senior Cup Semi-final against Long Buckby on 2nd December 2008. Injury prevented any chance of further first team appearances, although he went on a work experience loan to Daventry Town of the UCL Premier Division in February 2009, and Billericay Town of the Isthmian League Premier in March 2009, returning to play in the final of the Midland Youth Cup at Port Vale.

He was chosen as the Diamonds Young Player of the Season for 2008-09, and his performances were rewarded when he was offered a pro deal to keep him at the Diamonds once his scholarship was complete. This deal was signed shortly before the start of the 2009/10 season and he was allocated the squad number 22.

Jack went out on a season long loan with Hemel Hempstead Town at the beginning of the 2009/10 season, in order to gain match experience. After returning back early from that loan however, he was released by the club in December 2009. He decided to continued with his studies in the Lancashire area and joined Northern Premier (Unibond) League Division One North side Rossendale United.
