Simon started his career with Tottenham Hotspur, although never made it into the first team. He joined Brentford in August 1997, but failed to impress and made only 8 appearances before being released at the end of the season. Although he was given a short term contract at Brighton & Hove Albion, injury thwarted any chance of first team football so he decided to drop down to the non-league game, joining Dover Athletic in September 1998. After some impressive performance, Brian Talbot brought him to Nene Park on 17 March 2000 for a £50,000 transfer fee.

Despite making 33 appearances, he failed to reproduce his previous form and was eventually released on 5 October 2001, joining Stevenage Borough where he spent the next 2½ years. After a short period at Hornchurch, he returned to his birthplace to join Crawley Town, before moving on to join Conference South side Lewes in July 2006. After helping them gain promotion to the Conference in May 2008, the resultant upheaval in the club saw him move along the coast as he opted to sign for Eastbourne Borough in June 2008, but after a season at Priory Lane, he joined Southern Leagure Premier Division side Farnborough on 12 June 2009.
