Defender Steve Lilwall joined the Diamonds on dropping down to non-league from West Bromwich Albion, with whom he was an ever present in their promotion season, via a Wembley play-off final. He had joined the Baggies from Kidderminster, and he had his second stay at Aggborough after leaving the Diamonds, ending his career at Moor Green due to persistent injury problems.
