Jason started his career at Hayes in 1992, progressing through the club's youth system to spend nine years with the club. During his time there, he faced Diamonds several times, scoring an own goal on one occasion. His spell at Hayes came to an end in May 2001, when he signed for Stevenage Borough. It was another long spell, spending another six and a half years with the club becoming the club captain and a fans favourite. He also made appearances for the England nonleague side.Whilst with Stevenage, Jason played under the then Diamonds Manager, Graham Westley and was part of the Borough side that narrowly lost out 1-0 to Carlisle United in the Conference Play-Off Final in May 2005. In October 2006, Jason went on a three month loan spell with York City before returning in January. He was released by Borough on 31 January 2007, allowing him to become a free agent and sign outside the transfer window and it was on 6 February 2007 that he came to Nene Park.on a deal until the end of the season.

He played seven games during his spell with Diamonds, but was released in May 2007 after failing to secure an extension to his stay. After an approach by York City to return, he elected to join AFC Wimbledon, where he led the team into the Conference South, and then the Conference the following season. Despite being Wimbledon 'player of the season', he was released at the end of the season and joined Ryman Premier League side Sutton United on 2 June 2009 as club captain.
