Former Leeds United player Martin Foster joined the Diamonds in October 2007. He had also had spells at Oxford United and Halifax Town amongst other teams, making 23 appearances in the 2007/08 season for Diamonds.
He left the Diamonds to join Tamworth in early 2008. The midfielder has struggled to find a settled place in the Diamonds side, and what with a baby and young family, he has struggled with the travelling involved from his family home in Sheffield.
His manager Garry Hill commented on his departure "Fozzie lives in Sheffield and the travelling has become hard for him over a period of time. I respect his honesty and I've now got to look to the future."
He joined newly promoted Conference North side Eastwood Town on 17 June 2009.
