Adam was a youth team striker who was given an opportunity, coming on as a second half substitute at Leek Town in August 1997. It was to be his only game for the club and he was noted playing for Abingdon United early in 2001 before joining Rothwell Corinthians of the United Counties League in August 2001. He was playing for Long Buckby in 2003, before joining Burton Park Wanderers in the summer as player / co-manager.
